Troubleshooting 500 Error After Activating License Key in SeedProd

If you see a 500 error after entering your SeedProd license key, the most common cause is having both the free (Lite) and Pro versions of SeedProd installed and active at the same time. Running both plugins simultaneously creates a conflict that triggers the 500 error. The fix is straightforward — deactivate the Lite version.

How to Fix It

  1. In your WordPress admin, go to Plugins > Installed Plugins.
  2. Look for the plugin titled “Coming Soon Page, Maintenance Mode, Landing Pages & WordPress Website Builder by SeedProd” — this is the Lite (free) version.
  3. If it is active, click Deactivate beneath it.
  4. With only SeedProd Pro active, go to SeedProd > Settings > License Key and enter your license key again, then click Verify Key.

Note: The Lite and Pro versions of SeedProd cannot run at the same time. Once you install SeedProd Pro, the Lite version should be deactivated. You can safely delete it from your Plugins screen if you no longer need it.

SeedProd Pro Is Not Installed

If you do not yet have SeedProd Pro installed, you will need to download and install it before activating your license key. See the Installing and Activating the Pro Plugin guide for step-by-step instructions.

If deactivating the Lite version does not resolve the 500 error, the issue may be related to a server configuration problem. Refer to the general Cannot Save Changes in SeedProd guide for further diagnostic steps, or contact the SeedProd support team for assistance.
